Douglas SBD Dauntless Short Kit byYRM Rustikus

This is the Short kit for the YRM Rustikus 1/4 scale Douglas SBD Dauntless. This short kit consists of a complete set of laser cut balsa and plywood formers and ribs as laid out on the plans which will enable the construction of this amazing model. 
 
The giant scale Dauntless is 1/4 scale is designed with a three piece wing and a one piece fuselage.  The model features many basic model building methods. The basic structures use conventional “modeling” tools and materials such as balsa and plywood, and the techniques used make the construction of this model extremely simple.

The Douglas SBD Dauntless is a World War II American naval scout plane and dive bomber that was manufactured by Douglas Aircraft between 1940 and 1944. The SBD was the United States Navy's main carrier-based scout/dive bomber from mid-1940 through mid-1944. The SBD was also flown by the United States Marine Corps, both from land air bases and aircraft carriers. The SBD is best remembered as the bomber that delivered the fatal blows to the Japanese carriers at the Battle of Midway.
