Vailly Aviation Stinson L-5 Plan

The Vailly Aviation giant scaleStinson L-5 is 1/4 scale. The L-5 is an ideal model for those who want to scratch build an economical giant scale warbird with docile flight characteristics. Probably one of the best “warbugs” for flying off of all types of fields (grass or pavement) in all types of weather.
 
Primary construction is light plywood, balsa and spruce using conventional “Tried and True” materials and building techniques. All structures (with the exception of the rudder) are built-up and are either sheeted with 1/8" or 3/32" balsa. The rudder is fabric covered as per the prototype. No foam is used what-so-ever. The 1/4 scale L-5 can use 5.50inch Dubro balloon style wheels for those really soft fields or thick uneven "un-improved" grass runways. The pilot (and "back seater") required is a "militarized" 1/4 scale civ pilot.
